Cinnamon Cookies

These are my mom's cinnamon cookies. They're best when they're still soft. I don't think I've ever made these myself, but they are pretty good.


  • lots of Cinnamon (1 table spoon?)
  • 2 ½ cups brown sugar (1 package)
  • 2 cups butter
  • 4 ½ cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 beaten egg
  • 2 table spoons water


  1. Blend sugar and butter in large bowl.
  2. Add egg.
  3. In a medium bowl, mix cinnamon and baking soda into flour.
  4. Add dry mixture and water alternately to sugar and butter mixture.
  5. Roll into wax paper.
  6. Freeze rolls for at least 1 hour to harden.
  7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  8. Slice rolls into cookies. (A thread may be useful.)
  9. Bake at 350 (or 325-400) degrees for about 10 minutes until browned.




My mom makes these for Christmas.
