I've lived in St. Louis pretty much all of my life, except for college. But we're considering moving to San Francisco or Chicago.
I live with my wife Beth in a nice house in Ballwin, Missouri (a suburb of St. Louis). We met online in September of 2006. We were married in October 2009.
I'm a very active member of various meetups in the St. Louis area. I currently run STL Elm and STL Polyglots. I also host the St. Louis Ruby Users Group. For many years, I was chair of the St. Louis Linux Users Group and on the board of the St. Louis UNIX Users Group.
I went to college at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, in Terre Haute, Indiana. I started as a Physics major, but switched to Computer Science when I realized that I really wanted to be a "computer person". Rose-Hulman is one of the top engineering schools in the country.
I've taken a few classes since then, at Washington University in St. Louis.
I went to high school at Hazelwood East, in Spanish Lake, Missouri.
